BaltEX provides non-custodial cryptocurrency exchange services, enabling users to exchange digital assets without retaining their funds. The Company adheres to international Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols. We may request documents to verify your identity (e.g., passport or national ID) and the source of your funds (e.g., bank statement). Our automated system analyzes transactions to detect suspicious activity. High-risk transactions may be suspended for additional review. Funds may be held in the following cases:
Users will be notified of the need to provide additional data or documents. The review process typically takes up to 7 business days. In complex cases, the period may be extended, with the User being informed accordingly.
In certain instances, if a User declines to disclose their identity and refuses to complete the KYC/AML verification process, BaltEX reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deny the exchange and retain an operational fee of up to 10% of the transaction amount before remitting any remaining balance. Additionally, the Company reserves the right to withhold any refund for the duration of an investigation or as required by its legal obligations.
Transactions may be processed under one of the following rate types:
Funds must be deposited within the timeframe specified in the transaction request. Late deposits may lead to cancellation or adjusted terms (e.g., recalculated rates).
Deposits below $10 USD (or equivalent in other currencies) are deemed non-processable. Such deposits will not be refunded or credited to the recipient’s account.

Refunds related to other user errors (e.g., sending funds via the wrong network or to the wrong address) may be subject to a $50 fee plus applicable network fees.
The Service is provided "as is" without any guarantees. The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of funds, profits, or data. Additionally, the Company is not responsible for issues arising from third-party providers integrated into our Service.
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate a User’s access to the Service without prior notice in the event of a breach of these Terms or applicable laws.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Refunds are processed within seven business days in cases of system errors or unfulfilled transactions. Refunds caused by User errors are subject to a $50 fee, plus applicable network charges.
